Radon what a joke!

The EPA estimates that 21,000 people die each year from lung cancer attributed by radon. In the US the level permitted by EPA is 0.4 pCi/L yet in the UK it is 80 pCi/L in homes or 160 pCi/L in the work place. (1 pCi/L = 37 Bq/m3 )

Yet according to the UK Heath and Safety Executive (HSE):

“The radioactive gas radon is a hazard in many homes and workplaces. Breathing in radon is the second largest cause of lung cancer in the UK resulting in up to 2000 fatal cancers per year. However radon hazards are simple and cheap to measure and relatively easy to address if levels are high. Under UK regulations all employers must review the potential radon hazard in their premises.”

So, if the UK has 2000 annual deaths from radon and our levels are 200 times less in the home and 400 times less in the work place, how is it that people in the US are dying over 10 times faster from radon than in the UK? They have a population of 61,792,000 and the US has a population of 310,597,991 so even if there is 5 times the population then shouldn’t it reason that we would have about 38 deaths/year from radon??? (7.5 deaths/year x 5)

Could it be that radon is a huge scam??? Could it be that the liberals have again pulled the wool over our eyes like global warming, margarine, cholesterol, mold, etc. Just take a look at the unfounded scares of 2010. They scare people into a frenzy by feeding the liberal media a fake or bias “report” or “study” and duping most of the country too lazy to check out the facts. Then they con the congress into passing laws to “protect the people” all under the guise of some group getting rich. If you ever want the truth to ANYTHING follow the money. You will be amazed when you find out who is profiting from the “report” or “study”.

When Congress Runs Amok

I’m reading the constitution and I believe the authors overlooked an unforeseeable dilemma we have today, that Congress completely ignored the will of the people and passed a bill that seems to be unconstitutional.

What immediate rights do the people have (other than to vote the rascal out of office next term) to repeal a bill that the people did not want? Should we have an amendment to repeal bills when Congress deliberately defies representing the people and their wishes? The balance of power is distorted when Congress ignores the people and it now becomes a collective dictatorship.

It seems that we have entered into the twilight zone under this aministration. “You silly people, you are naive and stupid to the ways of the world and we know best.” Doesn’t that sound like a dictatorship??? “We will ignore your wishes, take your cash and redistribute your hard earned money and give it to the poor people who vote for us because we give them free stuff and we love the slaves votes!”

There will be a revolt like you have never seen if this Obamacare is not repealed and spending & taxing doesn’t stop immediately. This President will be the most hated President since Jimmy Carter. And will be the laughing stock of the world. (They already portray him as a moron) He does not understand that in order to gain respect in the world you must flex your power and strength. Otherwise they view you as weak and will attack.

Maybe it was the novelty of electing a black president, but what the people have done is placed an inexperienced ignorant man into office that will turn this country into a socialist nation and make us vulnerable to terrorist and destroy what makes this nation great.

Congressman’s Outburst

OMG! I have to laugh at the liberal comments over Rep Wilson’s outburst! Little mindless lemmings proclaiming their allegiance to the liberal mind set. Did it ever occur to anyone that someone could have such strong convictions that they lose it in the presence of a bold face lie? Grant it I believe the congressman was out of line and I respect the President and the forum, but sometimes you have to call someone on “Bull Shit” He apologized as needed and the issue should be over. Or is heckling President Bush ok, but not this president?

I’m still rolling that former President Jimmy Carter said the comment was "dastardly" and part of an "inherent feeling" held by some in this country who feel that a black man should not be in the White House. Are liberals on drugs??? Do they really believe this crap they are spewing??? Does any opposition to this president’s policies make you a racist??? I find that fascinating!

I guess that the new culture of mindless 20 year old plus drones parading out of the colleges might see that as fact. Everyone should get along and accept each other as they are and if not you must be a racist. This culture is programmed to condemn anyone with opposing views to socialism. How could anyone disagree with the 1st black president? And my response is “Why does the colour of his skin matter?” Does that somehow make him a better person than the rest of Americans?

Should not the president be evaluated on his policies and character? Should race even be a factor? The people who want to keep racism alive find an inherent need to drive a wedge between difference races. Otherwise how could people like Jessie Jackson, Jeremiah Wright or Al Sharpton keep their following? These people need to stop. But an outburst driven by firmly held beliefs by Congressman Wilson can hardly be driven by race. Only a racist would believe that!

Lock-Step Democratic Liberals

It’s quite scary that Miss California cannot have an opinion that gay marriage is wrong and now she is run out of town on a rail. If you do not lock-step with the liberal thinking then they will destroy you. Mindless drones thinking and voting exactly like they tell you is the goal of liberals.

If you believe that gays behavior is wrong you’re a homophobe or if you criticize a race’s behavior like illegal immigration then you are a racist. Liberals are bullying people into doing just what they want and conditioning people to react rather than to think for themselves.

Are not American’s permitted to think and have opinions without repercussions? It seems liberals don’t believe that we are capable of using our brains in forming logical conclusions based on religious beliefs, experience and conscience. God forbid you might have a thought without listening to the almighty liberal’s point of view, because if you don’t they will call you names.

Churning out these mindless drones has become an epidemic in our youth. Parents are responsible for teaching kids morals and passing on their knowledge and experience to help them make life choices. But now the schools and colleges are teaching our kids how to think the liberal way without check anymore. In my opinion many parents are too consumed in pursuing material things rather than worrying about raising their children properly.

So, without guidance from the family, children will seek information where they can get it despite whether the information is correct or of sound logic. And now Pavlov’s law becomes reality in the way children and young adults receive information. They tell you that any behavior is acceptable but if you don’t agree then you are a bad person. And as soon as you think for yourself you get an F on the test or the other mindless drones shun you. They condition you like lab rats to react the way they want.

Democratic Party is a Slave Master

They all chant together “Let’s help the poor!”, “The rich keep getting richer!” and “We are on your side!” But the truth of the matter is the Democrats see the American people as slaves. You toil at your jobs till about every April or May just to pay the taxes. The poor are handed services with no intention of weaning them from the programs. They buy the votes and keep them at bay just like slaves.

It’s all about control. They want to control our lives and our money. The monster feeds itself. Any state or federal social program survives on funding. If you lose you “clients” your business closes and your job is lost. Where is the motivation to end or reduce those programs? If you help these people succeed in life and become productive people in society they realize that they were slaves and the party loses their votes.

Money leads to power. And the Democrats now have control of “the whole shebang”. They are running through our tax dollars like a crack-head with a wad of cash in his pocket. And there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight! It reminds me of a scene in the movie (if my memory serves me correct) “The Jerk” where Steve Martin says “How can I be out of money? I still have checks!” They are going to bankrupt this country at the current rate of spending.

Can you guess what the solution to the government being broke? Let’s all say it! TAX THE RICH!!!! They work hard and make way too much money so let’s play Robin Hood! Steal from the rich and give to the poor! It’s the party’s modus operandi for over 100 yrs. Keep the people under your thumb and make them rely on the government and “they won’t bite the hand that feeds them”. Control equals votes plain and simple and that is slavery!

The poor and uneducated are stuck in slavery and they will continue to vote for that party. But what is the excuse for those that voted for Obama? Do you want to be a slave? Do you want your freedoms traded for legislation allowing abortion, gay marriage, stem cell research, sex offender leniency, criminals released on the streets, no border protection, military reduction and ineffectiveness, and the torture and killings of millions of people in other countries?

Obama wants to be our next president, a man I believe is a racist and a man without a loyalty to the United States and the belief in our constitution. In his book The Audacity of Hope and Dreams of My Father he wrote several troubling quotes:

” I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”.

And a few other disturbing quotes:

This would be commander and chief hates American and all it stands for, has loyalties to radical Islam and wants to give aid to a country that trains and promotes hatred of the United States by Islamic radicals. We cannot tolerate a leader who would “… sit down with the leader of Iran…” SIT DOWN with a radical??? They want to eliminate Christians and Jews from the face of the earth??? Is he still doing drugs?

The terrorist are training and teaching their young children to hate the United States and instill in them that we are the enemy and we must all die. Our next leader must be prepared to continue the fight against terrorist. He must be willing to use all of our resources to protect this nation and Obama has no clue about the hatred and contempt these radical hold against us. His solution is to sit down and talk just as Neville Chamberlain did with Hitler in 1939.

The president of the United States must protect all life and when he was asked at what point a baby gets human rights Obama responds “… answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade." Above my pay grade is not an acceptable answer when our troops are in harm’s way, when our allies are under attacked and when terrorist our on our soil.

If elected as president I believe Obama would undermine our nation’s security, the military’s safety and our strength in the world as a leader for human rights and freedom. The only “Change” we’ll see under his leadership is higher taxes, a crippled economy and possibly World War III!

The N Word

The perpetuation of us vs. them continues with the use of the N word. And it continues to divide races. Blacks like Woopie Goldberg says taking the N word back it empowers blacks. Huh? All it does is continue to separate the races by saying: “You can never understand my world” and “We are different”. If we continue to define each other as being different then how can you expect to be treated the same? If different rules apply to blacks and not whites how will we ever just be Americans?

The N word has a history of such demeaning and degrading context why would you ever want to use it? How about we try and do what Woopie says and try and redefine other words or phrases. How about the term “Child Molester”? Lets all greet each other with “Hey! What’s up child molester?” That is just as ludicrous as what Woopie is saying.

I’m still amazed that black leaders still on one hand say we need to unite and all get along then on the other fight tooth and nail to defy promoting acceptable social behavior. Greeting another with any derogatory word or term is not an acceptable social behavior. What ever happened to manners, social graces and respect for others? Shouldn’t this be the message resonating through the black community?

Blacks siding with the rappers use of derogatory and degrading terms and continuing to make excuses for unacceptable social behavior like using the N word just isn’t cutting it anymore. If you want to be respected you have to respect others.

Mr. Pitts wrote in the Dayton Daily News article “Some refuse to face the ugly truth” that “…something old and ugly has not just survived in us, but flourished.” You speak of racism as it is spreading like wild fire in this county. My friend again you are so far off base it isn’t even funny. The problem with Obama is HE is a RACIST! You can tell by his actions, by the way he speaks and the company he keeps. That is why many Americans didn’t vote for him. And West Virginian’s have long been discriminated against so they can see it a mile away.

You say that racism is flourishing you might want to point your finger at the presidential candidate himself. If you want the truth the so called “black leaders” are racist like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. The real problem is that no one is teaching these kids what is acceptable behavior in this country. The Irish, Germans, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Mexicans have come to this country and figured it out. Why can’t the majority of the black race figure it out? Seems you did!

Discrimination comes from an unacceptable behavior in society and especially in the work environment. If you look like a thug, talk like a thug and act like a thug, PLEASE don’t be surprised when you are treated like a thug. For heavens sake your race wanted to introduce an incoherent so called “language” ebonics!

Please quit pointing the finger at white people like we are hell bent on holding the black race back. The problem is that many blacks refuse to conform to acceptable societal behavior. It is the attitude and actions NOT skin color that is holding them back. The black leaders promote separatism but we are all Americans in this country.

You want to end the racism then you better squelch the rhetoric of hate spewed by the black leaders, black church leaders and the underlying contempt for whites by the presidential candidate Obama. Teach the kids what is acceptable behavior in this country and that hard work and self-reliance is what is needed to succeed.

Complacency

Lately I just don’t seem to get fired up over issues like I used to, so the posts are fewer and farther in between. I guess I’ve just thrown my hands up and figured that why jump up and down and scream? Does it make a difference?

It seems to me that congress is at a deadlock and I’m not sure that they can accomplish anything but bickering. So everything stays the status quo. I think I’m ok with that at the moment.

It gets exhausting standing on my soapbox spewing my solutions in hopes of changing some minds to actually think for themselves and not be lured into the utopia of a government controlling every aspect of your life.

I’d run for office if the skeletons in my closet were not piled so high. But maybe I could use the defense that I “never inhaled” and the experimentation with drugs was secluded to my youthful curiosity.

I look at my local government and shake my head at the ineptness and stupidity running wild. I know that in past leadership roles I shine, but I think of the work, the time and missing out on my children’s lives. It’s a huge sacrifice that at this moment I’m not prepared to make. I know I’m selfish.

I’ve always lived by the rule that if you complain you better be ready to step up and make a difference. But lately I cannot muster the energy to complain let alone get involved in anything that I can make a difference. So hence the lack of new posts on the website.

Maybe I’ll find rejuvenation but right now it seems like nobody is listening.

It takes a village to raise a child…

I am a socialist! How can those words be any clearer? The collective efforts for the common good. Sound familiar?

At this moment I’m having Star Trek The Next Generation flashbacks that the “Borg” is coming. They assimilate all species of life in the universe for the “Collective” and all things are done for the common good of the “Collective”. Individuals are non-existent and you must conform or be terminated.

The “Borg” analogy may be a little harsh, but do you really want a president that’s a socialist in her thinking? Hillary Clinton in a speech says: “…a timeless reminder that children will thrive only if their families thrive and if the whole of society cares enough to provide for them.” The government should “provide” for the people, but at what price?

We are individuals, we are responsible for our success or failure in life and we are responsible for our children. As parents that is your number one duty. The care, protection, nurturing and growth of our children are parents job and should not be left to the government. Children are our legacy and the future of this nation. Do we really want to instill this lazy philosophy that the government should provide for them? Can you say “generations on welfare”? Or better yet “slaves of the State”?

Hard work and self-reliance is the only way to rise above poverty. And don’t say that people can’t get out of poverty. The federal, state and local governments have plenty of programs to help families or individuals. If you are on welfare in this country but are willing to learn and work hard to get out of poverty you can earn an entire college education paid for by tax dollars. I know several people who took advantage of the programs.

If Hillary Clinton is elected president with the Democrats holding on to the Senate & House, you will see tons of detrimental programs or entitlements implemented that will further erode our freedoms, continue toward bankrupting the US government and this Republic (“a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law”) will slip toward a government monarchy.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for Socialism. Remember her words, “It takes a (government) village…” to cure all problems in this country.

Are all Democrats Pacifists?

I consider myself “Old Testament” in my thinking, so I have a very hard time understanding why Democrats are calling for Israel to lay down it’s arm and not protect itself. It’s that “turn the other cheek” mentality they are purporting that troubles me. This does not work when you have Hezbollah a sworn enemy of Israel and its sole purpose is to destroy the Jewish nation. Should Israel put down it’s arms to be massacred?

What will a cease-fire accomplish? It will allow the terrorist organization Hezbollah to regroup, resupply and plan another assault on Israel. Do Democrats not understand a relenting will to kill others? Or are their own convictions so weak that they cannot comprehend beliefs they would be willing to die for?

If another country with a stockpile of 14,000 rockets suddenly hurled hundreds of rockets at the New England States the Democrats would be the first to point fingers at the Bush administration for not stopping them. They would be calling for an annihilation of that country.

The civilians killed are unfortunate, but I’m sorry but I really have no sympathy for people who aid and abet terrorists. And it is their choice to endanger their families and children in doing so. The Lebanese people knew these people we part of Hezbollah the terrorist organization and yet they still housed and assisted them. And what part of “GET OUT WE ARE GOING TO BOMB YOU!” did those people not understand? Israel dropped leaflets and the people have TV and radio. They knew Israel was going attack. (The rockets in the distance should have been a dead give-a-way)

And why did the Lebanese government sit idly by and watch this terrorist group heavily arm themselves? They knew this group was a major threat to the region. They should be joining forces with Israel to help crush Hezbollah. This is the only way to ensure that Israel can live a peaceful life and a cease-fire is the last thing they should do.

I wish I could see the Democrat’s view but I can’t find one they are too busy running away from conflict!

Congress is bickering, illegal immigrants protesting, president bashing, gas prices soaring, child molesters running loose, judges giving light sentences, terrorist being allowed to live, suicide bombers crawling out of the woodwork, uranium enrichment by dictators, strippers making false accusations, protestors disrupting funerals and the main stream media putting their liberal spin on everything is enough for your brain to overload.

If there is a devil he’s laughing his little forked tail off. It looks as if chaos has run amok and we are getting no where. But, the truth of the matter is that there is a greater war happening here. It’s a battle between Good and Evil. I knew someday that the people of this country would stand up again and take back the freedoms we have lost, fight for what is right and take back control from the liberals that have imposed their beliefs on this nation.

The tide is turning and we can all rejoice in the chaos. The louder they protest and the harder they fight prove they are losing ground. We have a president that despite the polls stays his course and pushes on with what he believes is right for this country. Yet at every turn evil is trying to derail his course and distract his determination. Hence, all the chaos right now.

The balance is shifting right and they can’t stand it. Justice Roberts and Alito were major victories for the right and the fight is just getting started. There will be the extremist from both sides raise their heads and try to gain ground, but the common good will ultimately win.

I think I’m like most, scratching their heads in dismay at the chaos around us, wishing nations were not at war, protesting would stop and people around the globe were happy living their lives in peace. Even though I am an optimist I know this battle may go on for years. But I can find comfort in knowing that the Good in this nation is not dead!

Illegal Immigration

Immediately punishing employers for using illegal immigrants is not just since the US has not enforced the current immigration laws. But I do believe that if we pass legislation that the provisions and enforcement must be mandatory. There should be penalties for employers not adhering to the laws but, a reasonable amount of time should be given for them to register the immigrants in a guest worker program. Losing the workers should not be a penalty since Americans are not filling those jobs.

Employers have broken the laws and I would place the burden of ensuring registration on the employers and make a mandatory garnishment of wages for the proposed $3000 penalty over a 5 year term for the immigrant. This fine would cover the unpaid taxes for the immigrants. Failure to file future tax returns should be grounds for deportation.

Failure to adhere to our immigration laws becomes a felony for both immigrants and employers, but again a reasonable amount of time for the employers and immigrants to correct the issue. Immigrants who fail or refuse to register with the help of the employer must be immediately terminated from their employment. And the employer would be mandated to inform immigration authorities. Likewise strict fines and penalties should be imposed on employers with possible jail time for failing to register all immigrant workers in the guest worker program.

Immigrants who want to become a citizen could automatically make application when registering for the guest worker program. But under no circumstances should they get preferential treatment. They are not entitled to our health care system unless they pay or the employer pays for the policy. Their children do not automatically receive citizenship. And failure to abide by our laws would revoke their guest worker permit and they would be deported.

These immigrants are just looking for a way to support their families and you can not fault them for it. Many Americans refuse to take these jobs because of the wages an employer can afford to pay workers. As long as immigrants register under the guest worker program, are not committing crimes and paying taxes they should be allowed to stay in the US and work.

Next stop border patrol!

Cruel and Unusual Punishment Mandatory!

Ohio Judge John Conner let a man who repeatedly raped a 5 yr old and 12 yr old boy off on probation. This kind of judge needs a dose of the actions he condones. I’d like to see him thrown in jail and repeatedly gang raped anally by at least 20 grown men daily for a 1 year prison term. I believe this is this would be the only just punishment for Judge Conner.

I am completely outraged and have a zero tolerance for anyone that harms children. This man has ruined the lives of these 2 boys and does not deserve to live in my opinion. He deserves the same treatment as Judge Conner and then needs to be put to death like a rabid dog.

These people commit crimes like this have no remorse nor have any control over themselves. Death is the only solution for sex offenders. A second chance to ruin another’s life is unacceptable.

Today another story about a man Kenneth G. Hinson in South Carolina was arrested for kidnapping 2 seventeen year old girls and raping them. He held them captive in an underground room under a shed in his back yard.

"In 1991 he was convicted of raping a 12 year old girl. Just before his release from prison in 2000, a review committee recommended he be committed indefinitely to a Department of Mental Health facility. But Circuit Judge Edward Cottingham rejected the recommendation, saying prosecutors failed to show that Hinson would likely offend again."

This Judge also deserves 1 year of getting gang banged in prison.

Recidivism of Sex Offenders, full report & Statistics by the Center for Sex Offender Management(CSOM a US Department of Justice program) summarizes current research on the reoffense rates of sex offenders and explores important issues in defining recidivism. It shows:

□ Rapists ranged between 7 and 35 %.
□ Child molesters with female victims ranged between 10 and 29 %.
□ Child molesters with male victims ranged between 13 and 40 %.

But these percentages are based on reconvicted offenders. What about the repeated offenses not convicted or caught?

We continue to sit idly by and watch these sick people violate our children. There is one solution and that is death. You can not rehabilitate these people their minds are corrupt and can not be cured. The recidivism rate of convicted sex offenders is too high when it comes to children. The more I think about it 25 years in prison is not sufficient for destroying a child’s life. A minimum sentence of 80 years minus the victim’s age would be acceptable. If we are not going to put them to death then life in prison I can live with in good conscience.

When it comes to children I believe there should be an exception to the 8th Amendment of the Constitution for convicted sex offenders and “cruel and unusual punishment” should be mandatory!

"Leaks" Commit Treason

Leaks about classified programs cost us millions of dollars, put lives at risk and compromises our national security. That’s why I would like to see “leaks“ charged with treason and a minimum 25 years to life in prison. And if the result of the leaks result in a direct or indirect death of military personnel or operatives that person would be subject to execution.

“Lawmakers serving on the House-Senate panel probing pre-Sept. 11 intelligence breakdowns have been asked to submit to lie-detector tests to learn the source of a leak…”

No longer can we tolerate the leaks out of Congress or any other American. These Congressmen have no right to be above the law and should be punished if they placed our people in harms way. Why shouldn’t they be subject to a polygraph test if they were the only ones that could have possibly leaked the information?

“The Senate's top Republican expressed little sympathy for the members of the panel, however, and savored the irony of the lawmakers' predicament.”

Journalist should not be immune to the proposed law either. Conspiracy with a “leak” should have similar punishment. Confidential “leaks” about classified government programs and information has to be protected. Especially if our men and women lives serving this country are at stake!

Look at the NSA wiretap leak. The loss of valuable information and an edge on the enemy has placed American lives are at risk. Why don’t we just let the whole world know our military plans and tactics so that can prepare for our attacks? Can you say element of surprise?

“If we can't trust our nation's leadership with sensitive information, then we ought to go back and start all over again.”

Maybe background checks and a security clearance should be mandated by the Constitution if we can’t trust our elected officials to keep sensitive and classified information secret. Or better yet keep Congress out of military operations? Either way I believe jail time should be in any “leaks” future!

Katrina’s Devastation Anticipated Yet Residents Stayed

Despite all of the warnings hundreds of thousands of people stayed in their homes. You would have had to be living in a hut not to know the Category 3 hurricane was coming. City, State and Federal officials warned people to get out, yet they stayed. So where is the blame to fall?

Administration critic’s like Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La. Said:

"Despite the president's claims, the federal government was clearly not 'fully prepared' for this disaster. The administration was told what Louisiana already knew: that our federally constructed levees could certainly fail. But these concerns, and others made by disaster relief experts, fell on deaf ears," she said in a statement. "This is further evidence of the dysfunctional federal leadership that occurred before, during and after hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit the Gulf Coast."

Enormous amounts of finger pointing have gone on concerning the response to the disaster. But why are not the people who refused to leave responsible? They created a far greater task to rescue units, police and aid givers. Why is the concept of personal responsibility so hard for liberals and Democrats to comprehend?

According to an ABC News article:

Though city and state government authorities were primarily responsible for evacuating people, the disaster plan notes that Louisiana "had identified a shortage in resources required to evacuate and support shelters."

…Under the disaster plan, preparations for the storm should have begun at least three days before it made landfall. With Katrina, New Orleans ordered a mandatory evacuation 20 hours before the storm struck. FEMA officials were supposed to have critical resources in place before landfall.

State and City officials had the primary responsibility for the safety and evacuation of the people, so why such harsh critics of President Bush and the Administration? And if people refuse to leave a disaster area with at least a 20 hour head start whose fault is it that they can’t all safely be evacuated?

Is it the governments fault? Why doesn’t personal safety fall on the one’s own shoulders? ESPECIALLY if you were told to evacuate? The government can only protect stupid people so far. Just like Tsunami people stood there and watched the waves crashing toward them staying in harms way to video tape the disaster. You are just asking for it.

Yes many of the people could not get out because of either economic or physical means, but that’s were help from FEMA rescue teams, police and fire fighters come in. They are there to help people who can not help themselves. NOT rescue people fully capable of getting out, or those that stayed to pillage the vacant homes and businesses.

Could things have been done differently? Yes! Can we learn from our mistakes and correct them in the face of future disasters? Yes! Can we continue to blame the government when we fail to take responsibility for our own personal safety? Especially when we have full knowledge of imminent danger? I say not!

Growing Gap Between the Rich and Poor

According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the Economic Policy Institute:

Under current law, nearly all of the tax cuts enacted since 2001 is slated to expire by the end of 2010. The President’s budget calls for making most of these tax cuts permanent. [If he does]

· Households with incomes above $1 million — the top 0.3 percent of households — would receive $67 billion in tax cuts in 2011. The average tax cut for these households will be nearly $160,000 in that year.

· Households in the top 1 percent of the population (those with incomes above about $500,000 in 2011) would receive tax cuts worth $96 billion that year. Their average tax cut would be more than $60,000.

· In contrast, the bottom 60 percent of households would receive tax cuts worth $42 billion, less than half the amount going to the top 1 percent of households. The average tax cut for these households would be a little under $500 in that year.

Democrats continue to hammer the President on the tax breaks that benefit all Americans and purport hating the rich because they make more money and receive larger tax breaks. So lets take a quick look at what seems fair.

· Income $1,000,000 @ 36% tax = $360,000 in annual tax before deductions.

· Income $100,000 @ 28% tax = $28,000 in annual tax before deductions.

So the bulk of the burden of supporting the Federal, State and local government is on the wealthy in this country. They pay for the majority of the costs of services that benefit all Americans. Welfare, Military, police, firefighters, highways, public transportation, environmental protection, disaster relief, social security, etc… can we do without any of these services and more? Not to mention the businesses and jobs they create.

If you want fair lets take the entire budgets of all governments and the services they provide and make each person young and old pay their share. Without doing the math I’m guessing that the individual portion is more than most of us could ever make in 10 lifetimes.

Why is it that liberals and Democrats turn the hate toward the very people that are keeping this country safe and providing the taxes that pays for the services we enjoy daily? Isn’t that “biting the hand that feeds you?”

According to the socialistic views of many liberals & Democrats a person that graduates from MIT and a person with a high school education should make the same income. They neglect the fact that it takes thousands of hours of education and work to get there. I can prove that if you offered a million dollar or more salary to every American that only a few would ever do what it takes to receive that kind of income. Statistically the top 1% in the US makes $1,000,000 or more income. Every American has this opportunity in this country.

There have been many great men and women throughout America’s history overcoming tremendous odds and achieving success in this country. That same opportunity exists as it did when George Washington, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford lived. It is the American Dream to success and pursue happiness, so why so some begrudge those that benefit from their hard work?

Maybe it’s plain old jealousy!

Smoking ban in public?

My friend and I just had this conversation last week. He took the ground that the government should stay out of his business but I submit that employers also have a responsibility to provide a safe working environment. Smoking is a health hazard and people who smoke should not be allowed to harm others period. If their actions cause harm to others then that is a crime.

I appreciate this rights of the smoker, but lets just for a moment call the actions of imposing hazardous smoke in my air space assault with a deadly weapon. I believe that is a crime punishable under the law. Lets go a step further and call parents who smoke in the house with infants or children who do not have a choice child endangerment.

If I poison another with small amounts of arsenic each day is that any less of a crime? I think not. If the government has required that cigarette companies post hazards and warning on the product and people continue to slowly poison me then isn’t this a crime?

This is one area my friend and I disagree. Both politically conservative and usually on the same page. But, slowly killing me is grounds for parting ways on this issue. He is totally against government involvement in business. But I say that the government is exercising its Constitutional responsibility as stated in the preamble. “...promote the general welfare…”

I am usually opposed to large government, but it's role is to defend this country against foreign and domestic threats like criminals, con artists, and fraud including protecting the people from hazards that we know cause death. Would you advocate eliminating the FDA? I’d say not.

If people want to kill themselves slowly that’s not a problem [I enjoy my adult beverage often] but that is my choice not others. If every restaurant put arsenic in your food people would have a fit. Why is this so different?

Press Tries to Spin Story Surprised?

Corpus Spohn Hospital Memorial administrator Peter Banko stated at a press conference today that Harry Whittington’s bird shot injuries from Vice President Cheney had caused a minor complication. It appears that one of the bird shots has irritated the upper chambers of the heart and caused a silent heart attack, but not it the traditional sense. They further stated that there is a slight chance it could move and wanted to keep him under observation for another week as a precaution.

Dr. David Blanchard, director of emergency services at the hospital stated that his heart was healthy and that after being asked by the press how it would affect his future he stated “He’ll live a long healthy life as God has intended”.

The thing that really irritated me as I watched was the questions the press asked. After being told that he was fine, that no further complications were expected, and his heart is extremely healthy, the press fired off questions as if he was on the brink of death. The entire press conference seemed to fall on deaf ears. I also noted that it started to irritate the Dr. and he quickly snapped back at one reporter’s question and then the administrator ended the questions.

It is no wonder there is media bashing going on. They constantly want to spin the story and make it grandeur. Reporting the facts is one job, providing a commentary on facts is another but it seems they blur and become “factentary” in the hands of the press.

The way the press treat facts reminds me of the exercise in a communications class 101. The teacher whispers “President Bush is a great president who defends his country” to the 1st student and he passes it on to the next and so on. The last student repeats out loud “President Bush is a terrorist and he’s going to nuke Iran”.

Police and school officials have gone too far here. A 12yr old boy in Aurora brought powered sugar to school and was charged with a felony. “Police Say Sugar Brought To School Look-Alike Drug” and nobody checked the substance? Talk about morons.

The school officials should have taken it away gave him a detention and called his parents. And only if they could not identify the substance call the police. Where has common sense gone in this world?

The next thing you know parents will be arrested for a boy saying to his buddies “Hey guys I’m drinking a beer” and its root beer! I can see the headlines now “Parents arrested when son drinks a look-alike beer. Charged with child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor!”

As a child we should learn that freedom comes with a price. That freedom is about personal responsibility and consequences for our actions. In this country it allows people to grow up and become whom ever they want and enjoy the fruits of their labor. The choices are endless and that’s what makes America great.

A person that allows the government to interfere with their lives are giving up freedom. You depend on that welfare check, you wait for the social security or expect the government to provide health care, and now they control you. You are a slave.

Democrats constantly pit the poor against the rich, but the rich understand the freedom we have and embrace it. They work hard, make decisions to invest capital to create new businesses, and they enjoy the fruits of their actions. But the poor who chose to give away their freedom and refrain from making choices are taught to hate the rich.

Control is what the Democrats want over people, they want to control your business, money and freedom. They treat Americans like sheep trying to herd them into government programs and stealing money through taxes. They promise a better life, but at the cost of all your freedom. You’ll be nothing more than an indentured servant in the house of Democrats.
This month we celebrate President Lincoln’s birthday, a man who understood freedom and who freed millions of slaves in this country. It is the same freedom that our forefathers died defending. You are threading sanctions on that peaceful country Iran who only wants to get nuclear energy and they aren’t going to hurt anyone. You blew the food for oil scandal way out of proportion. I glad you fled this country with those same socialist ideas that are responsible for the huge deficit our country faces. In USA Today they showed a breakdown of the 2006 proposed federal budget and the highest spending was for The Department of Health and Human Services. It has a budget of $642 billion dollars compared to $419 billion spent on defense.

These social programs are the largest single portions of the budget. The Constitution says, “…promote the general welfare…” NOT provide for the general welfare as the Democrats have interpreted it to say. Services over services, handouts over handouts, these legislators have created a monster where spending is out of control.

If you want the government to provide for you stay in Canada and let them foot the bill for you. As far as I’m concerned I’m tired of paying for others too lazy to work or get an education. But don’t make me out as a cold-hearted human being, because I do support, at the State level, social programs to help the elderly, mentally retarded, and temporarily “down on your luck” people. Just not at the Federal level.

As far as Social Security I’d like to rename it more accurately to “The Government Thinks I’m Too Stupid to Save for My Future and Manage My Own Money Program”. Now I know it’s a lengthy name, but I believe this new name is exactly what Democrats meant when they created it. Maybe if Americans realized the way Democrats truly view “We the People” they would change their votes. Then we could work on changing the program and return the money to the people as Bush attempted.

There is always a price to pay when you sell your soul to the Devilocrats. They are the ones saying “Hooray for me, and screw you!” cause they have your money!

So let’s recap the President’s authority.
1.) He is the Commander in Chief of the Military.
2.) He has a responsibility as President of the United States to protect the states from foreign & domestic invasion.
3.) Congress under the Constitution makes laws and has authorized wiretaps under the USA Patriot Act.

If anything is criminal, it’s the Democrats & Liberals false accusations against the President who is fulfilling his Constitutional Oath of Office. It’s part of the Constitution if you bother reading it!

I was 11 yrs old and I remember hearing that the highest court in the land ruled in favor of abortion. My heart sank. How could we allow the killing of the unborn? Where has the morality gone in this country? Raised Catholic theses actions were against my beliefs and I felt the powers of evil shift and gain strength.

Many years have passed and periodically I still feel the shift in power in this country. When President Ronald Reagan was elected I felt it, when Bill Clinton was elected and then re-elected my heart sank again, but my faith was renewed when George W. Bush was elected president and then also re-elected.

The pendulum had passed center and started back to the right. I could feel it again. We had another good man willing to fight for what is right and stand up for what is good in this country. With the appointment of Justice John Roberts and now Judge Alito’s soon confirmation I again have a renewed faith in this country.

I hope that the momentum towards good continues and where common sense and justice ring true in the courts. That they will stand up for Justice and morality. And that the men and women of the highest court in the land will again uphold the Constitution of the United States as our forefathers had intended.

Is There Intelligent Life Down there?

Fox News reports “O'Donnell plans sitcom about gay woman who moves in with ex-husband”, we have absurd reality shows dominating the cable stations, American Idol and shows that just portray Americans as just plain stupid. So if there is intelligent life out there would they even visit this planet?

Why do the liberal producers insist on stereotyping all Americans with a low IQ? I think that it goes back to the same strategy as trying to reinforce their deviant behavior by depicting them as normal. Thousands and thousands of weekly images define our perception of our fellow man by the programs we watch.

I see it as a method of control over Americans especially the poor and uneducated. Power and control is what the liberals want. They don’t care about the people of this country, they view you as cattle. Liberal Democrats want control of your money and ultimately your lives. Can you say Socialists?

I refuse to watch those programs, but for those who do not it validates the liberal efforts to impose their beliefs of this nation. Go ahead and watch Rosie O’Donnell’s new show. If intelligent life is out there they wouldn’t assume there is any here by our TV programming.

“Besides gays’ preoccupation with sex, traditionalist psychiatrists have catalogued a higher incidence of personality characteristics suggesting psychological disturbance and an inability to interact successfully with others. Dr. Edmond Bergler, who treated over a thousand homosexuals, concluded that gays tended to:

- provoke attacks against themselves and then count these "attacks" as injustices they had suffered
- display defensive malice toward others,
- exhibit a flippant attitude in order to cover underlying depression and guilt,
- display extreme narcissism and superciliousness,
- refuse to acknowledge accepted standards in non-sexual matters, on the assumption that the right to cut moral corners is due homosexuals as compensation for their "suffering,"

- Less than ½ of a percent of the US population is declared gay (By my calculations it is .03% according to the 2000 census)

So with all these psychological and potential problems do we really want them in the military? I can’t ignore these facts and I can’t see why the military would either.

Where Does It Say Separation of Church and State?

Where does it say in the Constitution there must be a separation between church and state? I believe the Constitution is quite clear in the matter. Yet the judicial system and states have taken it upon itself to create laws and make decisions in direct violation of the Constitution.

I saw an article today "A high school senior in the Chicago area complained to district officials because religious people were allowed to speak at a school-wide assembly, according to the Chicago Sun-Times." The article goes on to say "...God or faith was not mentioned once. The speakers talked about, for example, never giving up, quoting Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, Sir Edmund Hillary..."

The original article said "We had some concerns about separation between church and state, and we don't like these kinds of assemblies being pushed on us, said Soto...” So I'm calling my lawyer? This is insane! Have you ever thought of not attending? (Which he didn't BTW which makes this more ludicrous) I don't like the KKK rallies or message, SO I DON'T GO and I don’t listen!

This is just another result of judges gone amok in this country. We continue to allow others to violate our Constitutional right to freely exercise our religion under the guise of a “politically correct” theory. And we continue to elect these judges who continue to make decisions in direct violation of the Constitution.

My frustration is that we have idly watched a minority of people chip away at the fundamentals that make this country so great. Why do we allow others to decay the fabric of this nation? It’s time for men and women like Judge Samuel Alito Jr. to correct the damage done and enforce the Constitution the way our forefathers intended.

Black Leadership: A New Generation of Pragmatists or More Socialist?

Mr. Rice,

After reading you bio on your website, I can see that you are a man of hard work and self reliance. But I can't understand the socialistic ideology coming from that kind of background.

You write:
"So, my younger generation proposes new ideas: Like Harold Ford Jr.'s "Call to Service" plan and his stakeholder account idea, in which the federal government, in return for community service, establishes accounts for low-income children that will be invested until they reach 18 and can take full control of the account.

We support Jackson Jr.'s strategy of calling for constitutional amendments that would guarantee health care, full employment and education as fundamental rights."

What part did the federal government play in you life growing up? Is not government hand-out's spoiling "your people" relying on the government instead of themselves? Isn't hard work and self reliance a more worthy mantra than government reliance?

How can you call these ideas "A New Generation of Pragmatists" if all you are doing is regurgitating the same socialist ideas that Democrats have been keeping "your people" enslaved with for decades?

Hard Work & Self-reliance is Key to Success

Reprint of my response. "I applaud many of the points in Clarence Page’s article on the NAACP on Dec 2nd, 2004."

Mr. Page writes: “…opportunities abound for those who are able and willing to take advantage of them. The struggle for equality involves more than civil rights. It’s also involves preparing our young people to take advantage of opportunities that the civil right movement has opened up for them.”

This is clearly the message that the youth need to hear. Hard work, self-reliance and personal responsibility are the keys to success. Men like Bill Cosby are spreading the message loud and clear by voice and example. These are the same ideals that make up the “backbone” of the Republican Party and why I believe President Bush received 11% of the black vote.

You may call it an important evolution, if not a revolution, but I call it hope for the young men and women of this great nation.

This is and example of racist propaganda that he spreads and is typical of the so-called black leaders.

The reason that President Bush won a greater number of votes by the black community is that many are living the American Dream. They are finally realizing the flaws in the Democrats perception of how the world should work. They have realized that hard work and self reliance is the key to success. And government hand-outs are destructive to your self esteem.

The election wasn’t about moral values; it was about leadership, a vision of America and the protecting rights of all people to have an equal opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their hard work.

Mr. Page writes: “you’ve got to stop letting the other party do a better job defining your moral values than you do of defining theirs.” This is typical a Democrat’s thinking that people are too stupid to think for themselves, they need the government to think, care, and provide for them. These are the very falsehoods that keep Blacks impoverished.

Liberals need to understand that Blacks are waking up from this propaganda. No longer will you be able to point the finger at the Republicans for all the Black communities’ problems. Blacks have realized they can think for themselves, work hard and achieve whatever they wish. How do you explain Black’s home ownership is at an all time high?

The people of this country are waking up to the fact that liberals want to control people and spend their hard earned money. President Bush understands his role as leader in protecting this nation and providing an opportunity for all Americans to pursue the American Dream. The veil has been lifted liberals; spinning another tale of deception for the next election won’t work either.

Stop the Hate Mongers

When will people learn that the Democrats only seek power and control of YOU and YOUR money? They spread the hate of the wealthy and people who belong to the Republican Party.

They’ll tell you to hate the people who make more money, but they won’t tell you how to make more or help you get there. They tell you that you are being discriminated against, but they won’t tell you how to change the perceptions. Even the so called “Black leaders” have an agenda at keeping the hate; otherwise they’d be out of a job.

If the Democrats really cared about the poor they would help to reduce or eliminate taxes for them, they would promote hard work and self-reliance as a means to lift yourself from poverty, and they would point you to the existing programs to help you. But instead they fuel the hate of the rich.

Government programs are designed to enslave the poor and keep them dependant on the politicians who promise a better life for all. Have you ever seen a person on welfare with a great life? They chant their socialist mantra that everyone is equal, but neglect to tell you that men & women that work harder and set goals achieve great things.

Democrats want your money and they want power over you, The Republicans want you to exercise your right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness! You make the choice; it’s you’re your constitutional right to vote!
